The next characters I'm gonna obsess over there are Elliot [they/them] and Vega [she/they]!! :w:
I should have posted the references where they are in the work setting - they are anomaly research agents... ~~ But noo ass touching picture it is~~
But one of the themes important to the story is their relationship development, so I guess it's important too...
------
Vega and Elliot are not so close that they are together all the time. Of course, they generally like each other, but at the same time they are both somewhat individualistic and are good at dividing their leisure time (after all, their lifestyles are oh so different!), to be together and to be seperate.
And yet, if they finally get together, who would be the one the first move? The answer is: the first step is always for Eli. But all subsequent ones are already being done by Vega.
Vega is the person who needs to be asked to go out, cause she is usually a bit too depressed to get out herself. She likes to go out with those she likes, tho. Elliot may invite their friends to come on a mission, suggest places of interest to visit, or suggest taking on a common project... But this is where their time of showing attention to others stops. Eli is a person with very low empathy, and they feel affection in a rather specific way, rarely feeling like they need to try to keep a person around. But Vega understands this perfectly. Therefore, she takes upon herself all subsequent actions toward the development of relationships.
Vega likes to politely experiment with Elliot's boundaries - see what they like and dislike, what makes them emotional (and Vega knows how to recognize Elliot's emotions, this is her special skill!). In short, while Eli has their science experiments, Vega has one big social experiment... Being a friend to Eli. All the experiments are carried out with the consent of the test subjects, of course, Elya is trusted by Vega.
That's how it starts...
