What if Varian went with the gang in Season 2? What if... before Cassandra can run off after Rapunzel sings to her "Just wait..." Varian tries to reason with Cass too? And what if he was able to actually grab the Moonstone from her?

This is that scenario! He's just grabbed the Moonstone, and the blast sent all of them backward, hence why he and Rapunzel are on the ground. Cass, pissed off, stands up pretty quickly. And yes, his hair stripe is glowing!
