Hi, InkBlot! I've had this account for a while but am finally finding time to post after a crazy year of surgery and getting my first house. I have a big backlog of art to post, but thought I'd start with this painting from earlier in the year since it's my icon. This is Essan Isilnyr, my dhampire (formerly drow) warlock, and their cat, Chenille. Essanì is a pact of the blade, celestial patron warlock, with their Patron being a homebrew deity called Alosrin, the Saint of Light. Essanì fled the Underdark with their older sister, Laelstra, so she could escape a terrible fate of being turned into a Drider. As the stronger sibling, she protected Essanì on the way up, resulting in her death shortly after reaching the surface. Essanì decided to pursue as many of their personal goals as they could with their newfound freedom on the surface, so her efforts wouldn't be in vain. Their bird skull necklace was one of Laelstra's prized posessions, and they added the moon to it. The reason the escaped the Underdark is why Essanì was so upset over being turned into a dhampir. They are on the run from their creator, who they had a complex relationship with, and whose name the party doesn't know. After escaping their creator, they hopped on a caravan to the homebrew city of Yll Caelora to join the continent's first guild to hide and have protection, leaving their tailoring business behind. Chenille is simply a non-magical emotional support cat to add levity to a dark fantasy horror campaign, and she stays safely at the guild hall during adventures.
