all four cowfolk were rescued from different (other than the storm/rain siblings) abusive farms/facilities, and brought to a safe and open and free sanctuary.

when kuiper was brought over from a bull fighting ring, it wasn't long before they took charge and became the "alpha" bull, so to say. they are mean-looking, but is honestly a big sweetheart and just wants what's best for their growing and healing herd. kuiper eventually meets crescent, a cow with a son - astro. they eventually have twins; nova and nebula.

rain and storm, cow and bull, siblings, were brought to the sanctuary together. this was when kuiper had courted a mate and their mate's son was brought over from a dairy cow farm, as well. so, kuiper and crescent's (kuip's mate) child, astro (cres' child w/ another bull) actually helped rain come out of their shell, a little - as they're a former dairy cow, and the amount of calves they had birthed and lost/left were un-countable. seeing a calf was healing for them, and as rain eases into the idea of being free, so does storm - the protective younger brother of rain.
- rain grows close to a bull named star, and despite the nervousness and unsurity of the future, they eventually have a calf, named ace.
- storm meets and falls for a cow named comet. they adopt a calf, cosmo, who had been brought to the sanctuary without her parents.

neut is an.. oddball. in any au. third pair of arms torn away for inconvience, this bull ran away from a backyard-breeder type farm, and somehow found his way to the sanctuary, where he meets penumbra, a cow who invites him in and after a brief meeting with the herd's bull, is accepted in. the neglect neut faced was obvious in the way it's hair/tail were overgrown and it's hooves were unchecked and overgrown. neut and penumbra eventually become mates and have their daughter, tadpole.
