Long story short:
Vivienne, the mermaid, was suppose to hunt herself a man during the mermaids assault on the ship. The "chosen one" was suppose to be used for procreation and eaten in the end. Universe decided it's not the future for Vivi, so instead she met Ritsu, woman disgused as one of sailors on a ship. Fascinated mermaid decided to save the woman, getting pretty much insta-crush X"D
