A little birthday present for my friend [Selunare](https://www.deviantart.com/selunare) from last year, showing her character Aurelia 🥳 I can't tell you how much fun I had drawing this sketch portrait. Aurelia looks so beautiful and I had a lot of fun painting her in a setting that includes her elements of darkness and fire. She has always looked very strong and confident in Selunare's drawings and I tried to capture those feelings in my own art of her as well. It was also a pleasant challenge for me to work with two strong light sources. Over the past three years, I've worked on and off with light, shadow and contrast and feel like I'm starting to get closer to my goals - yet there is still so much for me to learn. I drew Aurelia and the background in Photoshop CS4, but painted the flames in Flame Painter 4 - God, I love that program! No AI was used.
