  • The next characters I'm gonna obsess over there are Elliot [they/them] and Vega [she/they]!! :w:
I should have posted the references where they are in the work setting - they are anomaly research agents... ~~ But noo ass touching picture it is~~

But one of the themes important to the story is their relationship development, so I guess it's important too...

    ------

Vega and Elliot are not so close that they are together all the time. Of course, they generally like each other, but at the same time they are both somewhat individualistic and are good at dividing their leisure time (after all, their lifestyles are oh so different!), to be together and to be seperate.

And yet, if they finally get together, who would be the one the first move? The answer is: the first step is always for Eli. But all subsequent ones are already being done by Vega.

Vega is the person who needs to be asked to go out, cause she is usually a bit too depressed to get out herself. She likes to go out with those she likes, tho. Elliot may invite their friends to come on a mission, suggest places of interest to visit, or suggest taking on a common project... But this is where their time of showing attention to others stops. Eli is a person with very low empathy, and they feel affection in a rather specific way, rarely feeling like they need to try to keep a person around. But Vega understands this perfectly. Therefore, she takes upon herself all subsequent actions toward the development of relationships.

Vega likes to politely experiment with Elliot's boundaries - see what they like and dislike, what makes them emotional (and Vega knows how to recognize Elliot's emotions, this is her special skill!). In short, while Eli has their science experiments, Vega has one big social experiment... Being a friend to Eli. All the experiments are carried out with the consent of the test subjects, of course, Elya is trusted by Vega.

    That's how it starts...

  • This is my first post where I just try stuff out! Hello world as they say ∠( ᐛ 」∠)_

But I decided to post one of the last big illustrations I've done for my story as a hello and some lore to maybe intrigue random ppl who come by my new profile... >:)

    ------
...Lyx wasn't just Kayleigh's first friend: their bond was even bigger than that. Lyx's first impression of the world is their meeting with Kayleigh, as they were the first to summon them. Kayleigh was 10 - and, in fact, their development has become kind of parallel. In this regard, Kayleigh is the basis for Lyx, and Lyx is the continuation of Kailey. And due to the fact that Kayleigh is the only person Lyx has direct communication with, their connection is fixed at a special level, where they can hardly exist without each other.

There is also an unspecified science behind their "symbiosis" - since Lyx was endowed many times with the blood of Kailey, its chemical composition was imprinted in the "composition" of Lyx. It's not like anyone else is trying to summon Lyx the same way Kayleigh did, but at this point, I'm not sure if that would be possible anymore...

  • Back on this website to finally finish sharing the Kayleigh and Rodeas lore dghsfdhjgf

    ------
    LORE

Lyx exists in two states: "scattered", where they are just a bunch of particles floating in the air, and "collected", where they take control of their "body" and can change its form however they want. It is uncomfortable for them to exist in one state for a long time, especially in the “collected” one, so they need a ritual, that’s performed by Kayleigh using radeas, to switch between their states. Thus, they are in some way tied to a radea field they were summoned with but can move long distances if some radea flowers a going with them.

Kayleigh basically had two goals: the first was to escape from the semi-abandoned planet where he was born - and take Lyx with him; the second was to prevent the researchers and scientists from knowing that Lyx exists. According to Kayleigh, if anyone learned about Lyx they would definetely experiment on both Kayleigh and Lyx. And, as ironical as it gets, the opportunity to fly away from the planet presented itself with Elliot, who is not just a researcher, but a huge fan of searching for the unknown biological phenomena...

Of course, that was a very risky move: to get on a cosmic ship with a random scientist when you're a kid that has a secret anomaly friend you can't tell anyone about without the risk of being turned over to the lab. And it was made even more difficult due to the fact that in order for Lyx to have the opportunity to switch their states and be comfortable, they needed to take some flowers from the radea field with them.

But that’s where Elliot luckily comes to play: the scientist did not only agreed to let Kailey take a flower with him as a keepsake without any problems, but also they organized the transplantation and safe transportation of a good amount of flowers! They had personal motives, of course: Elliot could not help but take on the study of some unknown species of flowers growing on the edge of the world. Well, for Kayleigh it literally turned out to be a fate’s gift.

As a result, they took a part of the flower field with them. In Elliot's apartment in Akrigth, in addition to a huge aquarium of strange aquatic fauna from different planets, now there’s also a small garden with the radea flowers...

  • The first post I posted here had them, now this one is just about them... Radeas, the fictional flowers from my story, that are actually one of the major anomalies the story is about

    ------

LORE: Unoradea Kaylightis or just Fumish Radea.

Those are a new kind of radeas, which were first documented by Elliot during one of their research trips – the same trip during which they met Kayleigh, actually.

What do we know about these flowers?

✦ The main feature of radeas’ genus is that they have a one collective root system (for the whole field of flowers) that forms vast underground plexuses. So on the surface, the radea colonies usually look like a large flower field, but underground there is a body mass of the roots that occupies all the available space.

✦ Fumish radeas specifically have some unique features: they spread evaporations around their residential area/ These fumes reflect light in such a way, that the entire field from afar seems almost invisible, blending seamlessly with the surroundings.

✦ Radeas have increased resistance to various harmful substances, and therefore survive without much problems on polluted water and soil.

So, yeah, welcome to my fantasy sci-fi botanical club…. But perhaps the most interesting thing about these flowers is that no one in the story really knows about them. After escaping from his home village for about a year Kayleigh lived in the crater filled with the Radea flower field. There Kayleigh summoned... well, met Lyx.

Lyx is a conscious paranormal being that is very intelligent but doesn’t know **** about themselves. What are Lyx, where did they come from and why are they connected to the flowers? No one knows, even Lyx themselves. But is it actually important to know? According to Kayleigh not so much. He and Lyx were able to leave the field for a trip through universe, so why bother thinking about anything else?
