I had this image in mind since last night, so I decided to make it today ^^



As both a mortician, and the one officiating the funeral on her cemetery, Emerald has a few rituals she performs to appease the deceased (even if it really is just a coping mechanism). So, on full moons, when the sky is clear and no one can see her, she dances in the middle of the cemetery, on a song that only she can hear.



I titled it "moonlight sonata" because I had it in mind the whole time I was making this x)

Grief is a strange thing, a painful one.
Even once you've passed all the steps and accepted your loss, it still comes back to haunt you from time to time. A feeling of nostalgia, of longing.


Emerald was very young when she lost her parents, but even now she visits their grave often to talk to them. Despite not believing in God, she hopes they can hear them from where they are... and that they're not disappointed in her.


(Sorry for the sad story, but lore is lore)

In this AU, Joey Drew Studios belongs to Ratigan, who has been mistreating his employees for decades. Basil used to be his associate but disappeared a few years after the studio's foundation.
Around twenty years after the studio's debut, Emerald got a job, and seeing the work conditions of everyone, she blew the whistle.

As a form of revenge for putting the studio in a bad situation, and to get rid of her before the trial on himself, Ratigan sent Emerald into the Ink Machine where she has to survive until she can find a way to get out.

(I was inspired to make this drawing thanks to @Stitchtastic2020 on DeviantArt, since we talked about alternate universes and stuff)

I made this drawing for the two year death anniversary of Unus Annus, as my character is an undertaker for which the balance of the cycle of life and death is the most important thing in the world. I just found it fitting ^^

Emerald is a young mouse (around 17 years old) that works as a mortician and is very proud of it. She considers the respect of the deceased to be of upmost importance, no matter who they are, if a body needs care, she will provide. Despite being trained as a mortician, her knowledge of anatomy and medicine allow her to treat people that might need it when the situation arises.

Her scar and damaged ear comes from the person who taught her the ropes of her profession, a rat named Arnasio. She caught him stealing valuables from the caskets of clients before sending them to be buried and he tried to silence her on the spot. Fortunately she managed to run away and alert Scotland Yard, so her former mentor is now in prison and she wears her scars with confidence and pride despite being badly considered by her neighbourhood.

Emerald is not very social, being kinda clueless about those things (autism amiright) and since she's an orphan, she doesn't have any relationships with anyone now that Arnasio is in jail. Her general demeanor is pretty cold, polite and calm, even though legends says she is capable of smiling.

(Yes, it is basically a Great Mouse Detective version of the human Emerald, but what can I say, I love her way too much)

So while brainstorming with @SammieArt2 (on Deviant Art) about Hershel, I evoked the fact he was a pianist, and the conversation went towards my favourite piano piece (Libestraum no3) and the fact I like to listen to it when it rains.

So Sammie, the genius that she is, proposed that Hershel would play the piano when it rains. I loved the idea so much this drawing immediately came to mind and I started sketching in seconds x)

So anyway, have a relaxed Hershel performing his piano ritual :3

I was just inspired, so I made Emerald as the ballerina doll that Hiram Flaversham gives Olivia for her birthday. However, she's not as pristine as the original.

But it's alright, for despite the fact she's damaged, she still functions without problem (symbolism and **** lmao).
