  • I've been doing a lot more daily sketching as I want to start letting go of the perfectionism I have. Especially with me working on a comic. It's also teaching me to make decisions faster and just have fun with the process. I'm using this month long challenge to also create a little zine of all my sketches that will also be uncensored and uncropped unlike here.

  • This is one of a set of illustrations that I made featuring characters from the graphic novel I'm working on titled Crown of Thorns, a grimdark fantasy story that emphasizes the point that not all fairy tales have a happy ending. This is one of the three main protagonists, Gerard.

  • A commissioned piece for a client on Facebook of their friend's Final Fantasy 14 character. Metal and hair are two of my favorite things to paint.

  • I've made a set of illustrations inspired by stained glass and art noveau aesthetics. I absolutely love the result. These are all featuring characters from an upcoming graphic novel I'm working on.

  • Hello friends. You may or may not know me from other social media such as Twitter, IG or Facebook. For those who don't know me, I'm Michaelis or Mich for short. I focus mainly on fantasy illustration and character design. I have a bunch of personal projects such as a graphic novel with my best friend called Crown of Thorns, a tarot deck, a cookbook, merch shop and more to come. I do post the occasional NSFW so I will steer minors away from this gallery and towards my Facebook or Instagram which is strictly SFW content. I look forward to meeting new mutuals and continuing to grow my skillset.

  • One of my newer DnD characters. I haven't had much of a chance to use him yet. But meet Vesetre. The race is kind of a homebrew hybrid of Golaiths meets Kor stat wise while the race is lost to history. He's a dweller of the high mountains where the vibrations of magic through sound can cause avalanches which led to their kind to becoming very soft spoken or avoid speaking at all until absolutely necessary which initially makes people believe him to be mute. Vesetre however loves music and singing and has a projecting voice when he does use it. (Think opera singer aesthetics).

  • A loose painted sketch of one of my main characters. Mostly to voice my frustrations with the drama happening around AI art. I honestly hope regulations will be put in place soon. In the meantime I will continue to hone my craft.

  • As I only have a few hours left before the new year rolls in I was left to wonder about what exactly I would like to accomplish in the coming year. This is my final piece of completed art for 2022. I look forward to what the new year brings, the things I will learn, the people I will meet and connect with. Despite the trials the art community has faced over the past few months, the fellow creatives I've met and the drive I see from them on a day to day basis gives me the motivation to keep pushing to do better and to be better. I will continue to strive to be the best I can both as an artist and as a person. It's a wild ride and honestly I'm kinda glad to be here for it. The list I'm demanding of myself is quite extensive but I'm determined to make it happen.
