Inspired by the caves update in minecraft, and playing with my friends. We have a realm together that we play on once a month and a lot of our inside jokes have kind of evolved into some "lore." I'm not good at playing video games, so I die a lot. So here my friends are, stumbling across my ill-fated character. It was originally meant to be the origins of "Sugar Cane Dumbass" but one of my friends pointed out it was kind of funnier if they were just encountering SCD's body after being a little overzealous while exploring. Piece I did for the [HK gender identies zine](https://hk-genderidentity-zine.tumblr.com/) over on tumblr. The Hollow Knight is one of my favorite characters from that game and I love that there are canonically genderless/nonbinary characters in HK. It makes me very happy.
I wanted to draw something more about acceptance and being happy with ones self for this zine, so I drew the Hollow Knight, after the game ends, in the queen's gardens. You have to be accepting of yourself and who you are and accept the parts of you that maybe you don't nessicarily like, and then you'll be able to find happiness. At least thats how it goes in my experience. That was the idea I was going for here.

Part 1 of a Bungo Stray Dogs AU based on the Phantom of the Opera. Although not the first piece I drew, chronologically this one is the first.
