  • A Signalis Fanart I made to try out a different painting method.

It was relatively successful, I got a cleaner result than my previous works, but I feel like I need to refine this method more to achieve something more desireable.

Maybe I should try doing cell shading, see if there is something from that I could use to make my work less "blurry".

  • Recently, I had the brilliant idea of checking how much Clip Studio Paint Pro was going for. After the whole shenanigan Adobe was doing with GenAI of which I do not approve, I was thinking in changing the software I use to make my artworks...

And "Oh la-la~", by a streak of luck, I found out that Clip Studio Pro was on sale! Was going for around 20$ instead of the usual 60$, one time purchase for a program I recall being really good back in my school days.
So, after checking if my purchase method was available... I got the app! Nice and smooth.

Pretty happy about this purchase. It means I get to stop using Photoshop until Adobe gets their **** together. Though, this also meant I needed to... personalize CSP and get used to how it functions...
So far so good, at least!

I'm making an artwork as I write this post, you can probably see a W.I.P attached to this... Looks promising, eh?

    Argh...
It's been a while since I last made a complete illustration though...

  • Just a colored sketch featuring my OC, Zullu May Landrean, without her coat and looking slightly... electrifying.

Not much to comment on this, other than I tried to make her arms beefier than in the previous artworks, slowly transitioning her into a more athletic/strong archetype without fully going into gianormous beefcake territory.

I got to admit that this "size" for her arms looks good on her. :)

  • _**"Oh darling, I had such a stressful day! I can barely find time for myself! I feel like I could snap at any moment...
    ...
Hey... I got a job to do here... So if you just stay still for a second, like a good boy that you are, I would be SO grateful!
Just, uh, this might hurt a little bit... But you don't mind that, do you?
Don't worry... I'll be quick. One good knock to the head will be enough, I promise!
    Ready?"**_

    ----
Work under the "Beowulf Vigilio" can be extremely stressful, having to go out to risk one's own life take down high profile targets or group of hostiles is not a task that anyone can do without breaking.

That being said? It's hard to believe that Zullu, Codenamed "Knockout", hasn't broken down after escaping from death's grasp during the Ops'. Sturdy woman... Barely had a month worth of training and she is already thrusted into dangerous missions, but somehow always coming on top... mostly.
Chief said she is a... "special woman", at first we thought that meant Knockout was special due to her being from a rich family or something, but after seeing her in action, I- No, we, have some other theories...
    ...
    "What" is she...?

  • New to the Inkblot, I'm still trying to figure out how this place work. Looking forward to interact with the folks around here! Definitely feels much better to write stuff in here than to be restricted to 300 characters, urgh.

Anywho, I am a character artist! An amateur illustration trying to improve to go pro! . . . Eventually. Nice to meet you all!

  • An Original Character, Zullu May Landrean, an exile from the distant "land", a beauty with an overwhelming sass and massive ego, a lion with hidden claws, ready to burst into action.

This is an illustration that was made relatively recently, representing an important mark in my artistic path, given how I did my best to make this artwork feel as complete as possible.
Looking back at it, though, I feel like I could have done a much better job, but I suppose that's the idea of looking back at your own old works: to reflect on them, understand the wrongs and thing you could have done better and apply these lessons in the future projects.

Yeah, that's a good way of thinking about it.

Fitting, given that this OC has gone through many versions since her first creation... If I'm feeling inspired, I might try posting some old artworks of her to show how far she had come...

And when I mean old, I mean it. Like, seven or so years back old.

  • A character design sheet for my Original Character, to use as a reference for my illustrations and, perhaps, for a "little" project I am planning on.

This is Zullu May Landrean, as of now she doesn't have a complete backstory as it is still being planned.
But the general core idea of the character is that she is "a snobby rich woman who is forced/persuaded to join a PMC to defend humanity from abnormal threats".

She belongs to a near future setting mixed with fantasy elements, where two races, Humanity and [NAME PENDING] are fighting in a hidden conflict for the control of the planet. Zullu is technically not a human in this case, but I'll have to work on the details of that at a later time... Maybe share some snippets of lore in future posts.

There are more things I would like to share, but perhaps I should do in future posts, when I am more prepared to share them.

PS: the emblem on her arm and on her back is still in development

  • One of the more dynamic illustrations from Late 2022 to early 2023, sort of. This is a remake of an artwork I did in 2017, featuring my OCs new designs, a different interpretation of the poses and a much better looking background.

I was quite proud of this one, I remember taking only around 10 to 12 hours across two days to finish, which might not be that impressive for some people, but given how slow I'm usually is when doing artworks this felt like a miracle. Doing this illustration showed me how far I've come as an artist and, interestingly, how much more there is for me tread in this little artistic misadventure.

    Good stuff.

Oh, if you are wondering, that rabbit looking green thing is like my Self-insert, or a mascot character of sorts, his name is Bunner!

    Lil' Gremlin.
