Recent Updates
  • Hey, hey-

Sorry for the inactivity, I've been pretty busy with a lot of things recently and haven't really found the time to make any status updates about them up until now. So, let's cut right to the chase and summarize of some of my latest shenanigans.

    • I started using Tumblr again after about 4-5 years of inactivity on the site. I never thought I'd see myself using the site again but with sites like Twitter being actual hellfire and Insta being a pain in my rear, I've decided that maybe Tumblr would be the best spot for alla my other stuff after all. I haven't posted a lot on there (mainly just Pizza Tower stuff rn) but rest assured I may start using it more frequently.

    • Speaking of, Pizza Tower's been a recent hyperfixation of mine and I've been looking/making fan content for it nonstop because of how much I love this game. It makes me wish I had gotten into it sooner during its development years because this is definitely the kinda game younger me would've LOVED to have gotten into. Right now I am on a quest to get every achievement in the game (including P ranks) and progress has been going great. I could go on for hours talking about everything I love about this game, but I'll spare you every last detail and say: if you like Wario type games or are looking for fast paced, action-packed, and overall goofy fun? Play Pizza Tower, it is a great game and definitely deserves the recognition it got.

    • I also got to watch the Mario Movie with my mom last month and if you want my thoughts on it, I think it's a fun movie. Not a cinematic masterpiece, but I don't think it needs to be. It was definitely a movie made with Mario fans in mind with all the easter eggs sprinkled in and whatnot. But it was an overall fun experience and one of Illumination's best films if I'm being honest.

    • I recently got a peer support to help me with some of the issues I've been having, and it's been going very well. My peer support is a very sweet person, willing to hear me out, and we both share some similar frustrations with modern society lol. Having her around's been great and I've been slowly but surely improving my communication skills with her.

And that's about all I have to share atm. I'm doing pretty well as of right now. There are still some sore spot of days that I have, but I'm doing my best to get through it all. Rest assured, I will try to post more art on here when I can. I've got a couple art pieces I can show off soon so look forward to that, haha.

  • And this is it! This is what I've been working on for myself for the past week or so. Have I ever mentioned I make plushes? Cuz I do, and here's an example of one I just recently finished!! This is a self indulgent project for myself and also my first time working with minky. And they turned out great! <333 There are a few rough edges I have with this plush, mainly just minor nitpicks like asymmetry and whatnot. But otherwise, I adore this funny fella!!

Happy (late..) birthday to me and I hope you all had a nice Valentine's day!

And that's the last photo I've got to show. I apologize for the lack of any proper display for this plush. I'm living in a small and pretty packed apartment and thus I don't have the most room for better display. That and posting all the photos separately might seem like an odd choice. Idk how to make photo collages look good atm.. ^-^' Thank you to all my mutuals, friends and family members for all their love and support~

  • So last night, I watched the new Puss in Boots movie with some friends of mine, and oh BOY do I have some thoughts. (They're all positive-)

    - Non spoiler zone

This is a fantastic movie. The art and animation direction is absolutely gorgeous, the story is well balanced, and the characters are all fun and charming in their own ways. The themes this film brings up are executed extremely well and the pacing was just right in my eyes. Taking time for emotional scenes but also knowing when to get back into the action. I have no doubt in my mind that I think Puss in Boots is the best film of 2022. 100/10

This is an absolute must watch, so please go see the film yourself if you haven't seen it, oh my lanta it is extremely good! <33

    - Spoiler zone (Only read if you don't care about spoilers/have seen the film yourself!)

    - You're still here? Well, here goes I suppose.

God, I think this movie managed to make me burst into emotions more than any other movie I've ever seen. I cried during the emotional scenes and by the time the film was over, I was a tearful, emotional mess expressing so much love for my friends, haha. The panic attack scene and Puss's fear of death hit really close to home for me as someone with General Anxiety Disorder and my own personal fears similar to his. Death is a terrifying antagonist and every time he appears, the atmosphere becomes more anxiety inducing for Puss and myself. The other new characters are great too. Perrito makes a great foil to Death despite his incredibly sad backstory and is just generally such a warm hearted optimist that I was more than happy for him to stick around the final team in the end. Goldilocks and her adoptive family of bears all have a really great character arc revolving around found families that was really great to see and 'Big' Jack Horner was such a riot. It's really refreshing to have a villain be a villain just because and give him no redeemable qualities while still making him entertaining to watch. Props to the writers and everyone on board of production man. They made something incredibly special with this film.

  • My birthday piece for Peacock I made a few months ago. Love how this one turned out. This is yet another piece where I was experimenting with rendering. Not sure what I was trying to accomplish here, I guess I just trying to figure out what sticks?

Anyways, **I love Peacock so much!** She's not only my favorite Skullgirls character, but one of my favorite characters, period. So it's been sort of a yearly tradition of mine to draw her a birthday gift everytime it comes around. This time, she has a buncha friends to cheer her on! Say hello to Ittle, Lance and Kit (all from their own respective games)

  • And now for some fan art of a kids show that aired in the mid-late 2000's because I have no consistent theming with my posts. I just post whatever I want to lol! God I love Wow Wow Wubbzy, it was (and still is) onna my favorite kids shows from back then. I've actually been talking about this show on and off with my friends for quite some time now, and the recent small boom of popularity it got on Twitter not too long ago only further drove in this hyperfixation. (Thanks Widget!)

So yeah, I love this show a lot. Widget and Walden are my favorite characters, but if I had to choose between the two, it'd be Walden (Sorry Widget!) I love his enthusiasm for all things teaching, and everytime he says his iconic "yes, yes yes!" I get a big grin on my face! :)

I am genuinely happy that good kids media has been getting more appreciation as of late. Back then, the environment on the internet was a lot more edgy and wasn't very kind to people who loved more simple and wholesome shows (unless they were My Little Pony) so it's refreshing to see this kinda stuff be put in a more positive light. Idk what the heck is going on with kids media these days, but stuff like Youtube Kids has me very worried. Just, be very careful out there.

  • Oh right I forgot to post these!

For Valentine's Day this year, I drew the Epic Battle Fantasy cast some valentine's all with some kind of LGBT+ motif to their cards. I hope you fellas enjoy them and are doing well this month. Don't forget to take care of yourselves! :)

  • More fan art for indie games with a special place in my heart? Sure why not.

I didn't bother rendering this one though, dunno why but it still looks nice regardless. I'm proud of how I drew her hair~ I love Yume Nikki and its fangames sm. Madotsuki is a very interesting protagonist while not saying a single word and just letting her mindscape around her doing all the talking. I do personally wish there was more fan art of her without the knife though. I know its an iconic effect, but I do think there's more to her that just isn't shown a whole lot in fan content, y'know?

So for this one, I wanted to draw her happy just cuz I thought it'd be cute. That's all.

  • And here's a drawing I did on my PC rather than on a tiny screen I call a phone. I feel like I should digitally draw on my PC more, but at the same time, I'm a bit more comfortable with drawing on my phone and stylus. I like to see what I'm actually drawing instead of having to look at two things at once (I don't own a screen tablet atm) Also my rendering's gotten even better and I wanted to show that off here.

Anyways, the character. Her name is Marcie and she's an anthrofied Wind Sprite from the Epic Battle Fantasy series. She's in her early 40's and as her pin implies, she is trans. She's a little quiet and doesn't talk a whole lot, but loves to socialize with like minded people whenever she can. I took a lot of inspiration from actual trans people for her, three to be specific. Firstly, I named her after one of my favorite youtubers who does video essay type content, the second is a mutual from the EBF server who draws a lot of women of the "hotty bad bitch" type lol, and the third is an elderly trans woman living in Japan.

I hope you all have a nice day and remember to treat your trans friends well.

  • So yesterday ended up being a series of unfortunate events for me. While I was not caught directly in the fire, the fact it happened at all still really pains me.

Not one, not two, but FOUR people I care about heavily all got into car accidents within the past few days. Thankfully, Jenna of Jemibuni is recovering smoothly and James of Schaffrillas Productions managed to survive. However, Chris and Patrick sadly passed away due to the incident. They were both very close friends (and in the case of Patrick, family) of James and losing them so suddenly must be one of the worst experiences a human could ever have. To have your close friends be there one minute, but unfortunate circumstances taking them away the next. It's a terrible tragedy I would never wish upon someone no matter how much I hated them. Please send them as much love and support as you can. They all really need it right now.

My full thoughts have been posted on my Twitter right here. https://twitter.com/KangaVanchilla/status/1620498850791428097

  • Hemlo!

I don't know how exactly to start this blog post other than I'm doing a lot better now and my birthday has been a great one!

Yesterday my mom, brother and I all went out to buy some more fabrics for my plushes and a few other neat goodies (I bought these very pretty shoujo esque tarot cards and tried some bubble tea in a can. It was delicious!) We then went to a nice Southwest grill called Moes (I've went there with my best friend a couple times before but this was my mom and brother's first time there.) We loved the food we ordered and I ate my meal in seconds, lol.

Then today (my actual birthday), I continued working on onna my projects while watching Dorohedoro (favorite anime, love it so much, SEASON 2 WHEN???) and when mom got home we all watched Puss in Boots: The Last Wish together and had some homemade pizzas and ice cream cake.

So yeah overall, very pleasant birthday! Nothing too extravagant, but hey. I liked it. I'd like to thank everybody that gave me birthday wishes, and I hope everyone has a Happy Valentine's Day (or Single's Awareness Day. However you'd like to celebrate that day specifically.) tomorrow-

  • So I've been playing some more games recently cuz I've been meaning to do that and one of those games is indie hit of the year Pizza Tower. I adore how much love and passion went into this game and I especially love the very cartoony style they went with in the game. And so I drew Ethan (onna my best friends) and I's fighting game characters in this art style for fun.

The guy on the left is Sinbad the alchemist (Ethan's) and on the right is Annemarie the jester (Mine). They're very close friends-

Anyways, the weather is looking nice today, so I think I'll take a walk soon. Hope you all have a nice spring time and don't forget to go outside every once in a while.
