_"You were the abstract my concrete life needed."_
I wanted this picture to be a play on "concrete" and "abstract" because my character (Roisin) and my ~~friend's~~ character (J'Kr) are a couple. Both like art/music but Roisin's entire religion focuses around it. They are also on opposing sides at the start of their story, but soon find that they have a lot more in common than they think. In fact, Roisin is very closed off to the world until J'Kr shows her kindness/understanding and brings her out of that shell. While Roisin felt empty before they fell in love, I don't think she associated the pain with loneliness until she saw what healthy relationships could actually offer.https://www.artstation.com/artwork/AqW11o _(Originally posted on Twitter & Artstation)_ _"You were the abstract my concrete life needed."_ I wanted this picture to be a play on "concrete" and "abstract" because my character (Roisin) and my ~~friend's~~ character (J'Kr) are a couple. I've always wanted to paint a wedding portrait of my OC Roisin with her husband J'Kr (my ~~friend's~~ OC) but I don't think I have the skills to do the original piece I've wanted yet. I was in the mood to paint flowers for the month of love and well--indeed I did! The plan was to paint a couple and then use the Mixer Brush Tool in Photoshop to make them look organic without having to duplicate and individually place each flower. However, I soon discovered that it doesn't rotate the image so I ended up having to do what I always do... duplicate and individually place each flower for several hours and contemplate my life choices. OTL
I think, all things considered, it came out better than I expected! I blurred my sketch before working on the line art because I saw someone recommend it on Twitter and I did some corrections by color picking after messing with the faces several times. Although I know Roisin's neck looks a bit long, I think it was the closest I could get to the reference picture I was using.
You might be wondering why Saturn out of all the planets? Well that's where Roisin was born! The song was also important to both mine and my ~~friend's ~~OCs so I thought it would be a cool nod to have their wedding somewhere that they could see Saturn, especially since I've always pictured their wedding have lots of fresh flowers.https://www.artstation.com/artwork/Omwar6 _(Originally Posted on Twitter & ArtStation)_ I actually finished my Valentine's pic early this year! This was a piece I painted last year. It was a super belated Christmas Gift. It was really fun drawing/painting something that mixes my two extremes, and challenging myself! The speed paint timelapses are a little on the longer side, but I think they were spaced out really well so that they each have a defined subject.

I was asked to paint this character as part of a commission for a DnD discord server. I decided to record the process for the first half of the commission. The whole piece ended up taking over 12 hours to complete, but the commissioner was very happy with it so it was worth it!

This is a commission that I did for a friend of mine of their DnD character, Adal. He's a tiefling who is a rogue wizard that likes to steal from the rich and--keep it for himself! He likes collecting gold and using tarot cards that he draws himself with crayons.
It was really fun figuring out how to paint his hair that is a combination of both warm and cool tones. I also enjoyed shading his skin tone and figuring out how to replicate the crayon effect in Photoshop. That part was a lot easier than expected because Photoshop comes with a crayon brush... which I would've know had I not always had all my brushes displayed in their stroke thumbnail forms!
There's also my signature hidden somewhere on his figure because I normally don't like signing my pieces. I did sign it again in the corner but you'll have to use that to help you locate the other one.
My friend is on Inkblot now, check her out!: https://inkblot.art/profile/illiztrationhttps://www.artstation.com/artwork/DA2oa0 _(Originally posted on Twitter & Artstation)_ This is a commission that I did for a friend of mine of their DnD character, Adal. I can't remember how long it took me to complete this because I really just worked on it on and off in my spare time. I don't think it's as good as the original (copies never are) but I am still very proud of how it came out and I was very happy to try new things to get the same effects in my style/medium.
I love DTIYS challenges! If you have one, send it to me please! smiley
Here's the link to the challenge on Twitter if you'd like to participate in the challenge as well.

I painted this in June 2020, though her concept design was updated in 2017.
So I really like painting "gore", I just suck at it! I'm really fond of how this one came out though, even though it's not super gory. There's a bit of blood on her claws, but that's about it. I hadn't drawn a background in ages either, so I know it's a little wonky and simple but I still had fun putting her in her "natural habitat".https://www.artstation.com/artwork/NxVZyD _(Originally posted on Twitter and Artstation)_ I painted this in June 2020, though her concept design was updated in 2017. I painted this a couple years ago as my friend's birthday present. They wanted a picture of their gnome DnD character, but had no idea what they wanted her to look like so they did their best to describe what they wanted and this is what I came up with. She's a little cutie.

They reached the level of Arch Fae and wanted a piece that had some dark tones within it. I was happy to oblige! I know there's not a whole lot of dark art in my current portfolio but a lot of my old art contained blood, darkness, high contrasts, etc. I was a little edgelord (still am!) and this made my inner emo child happy to paint. I loved figuring out how to design her new costume, and planning her back lit atmosphere. In the end I ended up making shading on her a little lighter than I originally had and I feel like it gives the whole piece a little eerie tone while still being hauntingly beautiful.

This is my half of an art trade with my buddy @llliztration on Twitter, of their character Anji!
The pictures ended up being huge files and much bigger than I intended them to be but I enjoyed being able to paint all of that surface area. No regrets in that regard! It's been a hot minute since I painted a background, but I'd like to do it more often if possible!
