So I posted a very NSFW/Explicit fic (link to AO3, to be clear) here on Monday. Here's what I've seen so far:
- No significant boost in statistics for the fanfic on AO3. Granted, Inkblot has a small community so maybe there was traffic, but I was unable to distinguish it from AO3 traffic.
- The NSFW label prevents it from being searchable on "safe" tags. I used tags specifying what fandom/show the fanfic is from (Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, ROTTMNT) and the fic doesn't show up. At all. I checked the latest and posts section of a tag I searched. This is curious to me. Does the NSFW tag _completely_ prevent something from being searchable via fandom tags? I understand that NSFW needs to be properly tagged and sorted so that minors and/or adults who just don't want to see that can filter it out. I have no problem with that. But for adults who do want to see it, does that mean they have to create specific tags to even search out the adult content of their fandom? Are we back to the days we tag explicit fics as "lemons?"
- It's quiet here. Which, again, makes sense since the community is small. I haven't been too active myself (busy with life and all). But it is quiet. I suppose this is a "be the change you want to see in the world" deal, but I wanted to note this here.
Idk if anyone will find this helpful, but that's the current state of affairs here.So I posted a very NSFW/Explicit fic (link to AO3, to be clear) here on Monday.
