  • Oh man, I need to talk my nieces into giving me art challenges more often. I forgot how much challenges breed creativity in me. They gave me a 4 color challenge after catching me doodling on a post-it while watching them color. Also, Crayola markers made it even harder, but oddly kinda fun at the same time, hehe.

  • This came about because of the hat. I saw it in a preview for an anime, 16bit Sensation, that has since started airing and loved it. The rest of the design deviates from the character wearing said hat completely because I didn't want to rip off the character, and at the time couldn't remember what she looked like anyways. Other than that, I just had fun with some watercolor brushes I never use in Procreate and this is the end result.

  • I've been working on this piece for a couple days, trying to get the lines just right. I don't think I'm totally there, but I think this is also the best I can do right now. For a portrait, I'm honestly rather surprised that it's turned out this good, given that I really have a very minimal background in drawing humans at all. There's still a lot wrong with it, but I think I can live with it for now. I like the style and want to explore it more in the future.

  • I hadn't drawn myself, or well, my old furry self, in many many years, and that seemed like a good way to get back into the drawing habit at the time. It certainly worked well with the shape studies I was doing that day at least. But yeah, it's not amazing, but for having not completed a drawing in nearly a decade, I was rather pleased with the result.
