Personal project of season-themed horses.
Even as the range of hues narrows, new flowers contiunue to bloom into Autumn. Sunflowers, chrysanthemums, and berries add their colors to the backdrop of changing leaves above and below.
The chill in the air is refeshing; but there is an urgency to make the most of the shrinking hours of daylight while it's still possible.

A gray horse stands in profile, facing to the viewer's right. It lifts its front foreleg and slightly arches its neck, its head perpendicular to the ground. Its coat is lightly dappled and has white socks on every leg. It has a stylized, almost wood-carved look to the curling light brown tail. The mane is cut short, or roached. It was not the most common style on carousels but it was popular on carousel horses decorated in military themes.
This horse is more simply adorned, with a shiny lavender blanket under a pearlescent sky blue saddle. There are decorative spread feathers at the chestplate and behind the cantle. Thick dark blue ribbons hang like garlands across the length of the horse.

Frost, velvet, pine boughs, ivy, and holly adorn this dappled horse. Even its snout and lashes have gathered tiny ice crystals.
Few flowers can thrive in the grip of winter, which makes the evergreen trees and bright holly berries seem to stand out even more amidst the blinding snow drifts.
