  • This took several weeks to finish due to me being a very busy bee during the 1st half of this month! Anyway, here is my drawing for Autism Acceptance Month as I am Autistic myself and I have been that way since I was diagnosed at 1 and a half years old!

This was a lot of fun to put together as I wanted to gain some additional experience drawing my favorite Dragon Type Pokemon, Goodra, as well as drawing another favorite of mine that became as such recently; Ogerpon. I also wanted to gain some experience drawing some other Pokemon who I haven't drawn in a while which are Pichu and Fuecoco. As for Azumarill, this was my first time drawing them and they were a lot of fun to draw as well. Azumarill, thankfully, wasn't difficult to draw due to A) the pose I wanted it to do was simple, and B) they are egg-shaped as far as their body was concerned and their limbs were easy as pie to draw. Honestly, I had the hardest time drawing Fuecoco as their body shape is unique. Their head and body connect perfectly with each other, making drawing them a task in itself. Their limbs were also a challenge, especially when it came to articulating them gripping their balloon string. Regardless of the difficulty, not only was it fun to draw, along with the rest of the Pokemon here, but the experience gained was well worth it. Ogerpon and Goodra were also fun to draw and put together and strangely, weren't too difficult to sketch out. It helps that their poses were also simple, much like Azumarill's, but even so. Pichu was the simplest to draw, but deciding on what pose I wanted them in took time to figure out and eventually, I settled with them flying on top of their balloon as I thought that would look cute and it that it would fit well with the rest of the drawing. My favorite part of this whole process was shading the Pokemon and their balloons. I really went to town with the airbrush in combination with one of the default digital brushes in Krita as I found that they work incredibly well together, so long as one doesn't go overboard with the airbrush. Overall, I had a great time putting this together and I'm glad that I took the time to draw this. It may have taken several weeks to finish due to my personal life getting in the way again, but it was worth it for the experience and I had a lot of fun along the way.

  • July 2010 sketch of Captain Reynaud, leader of one of the three factions of "software pirates" in DYOS XI. He is one of many characters that I conceived as part of an ultimately abandoned hobby project predating my involvement in DYOS; he made cameo appearances in DYOS 10 from the moment I started submitting sketched comics, and I tweaked his role somewhat to fit him into the canon.

The software pirates were originally planned as competing mercenary factions that the other contributors could wheel and deal with as part of the cyberpunk flavour early in the story. Alas, the plot took off so ridiculously fast that this subplot quickly fell by the wayside, and I'll be lucky to even *give* them a conclusion before the thread finishes.

Unlike the Crimson Binome, who's motivated by profit, and Locke, who's just generally opportunistic, Reynaud and his crew are in the game chiefly for the thrill of the adventure. His is a cavalier, cup-half-full attitude; his first semi-plot-relevant feature showcases him laying waste to the *Space Pirates* simply because he feels like it.

His uniform is based on that of a Vice-Admiral of the British Navy circa Trafalgar, although I later decided the actual colour a grey-blue. Not seen is the feather to his cap (as I started this too close to the top of the paper) and the ribbon affixed on the opposite side. The name Reynaud, which is similar to *Renard*, the French word for fox, was actually inspired by the politician Paul Reynaud; there is no other basis of comparison between the two.

It's an older sketch, and my approach to drawing him has changed somewhat, but his pose and expression led me back to this piece for subsequent references numerous times.
