This is Geig, an FC of mine. I originally drew this back in Febraury it remained as a WIP. I finally finished it after losing motivation to do so in the first place. yeah. anyways. that's all.

After the words left Mentis's lips, Derki smirked placing down some money putting his hood up and grabbing Mentis dragging him out the club and quickly to a nearby hotel he was staying in for the moment, He dragged Mentis into the elevator kissing him all the way up to his room he pushed mentis into the room locking the door behind him.

Everything was a blur as clothes where tossed here and there, soon enough from outside you could hear loud moaning and screaming of names, after awhile they had both collapsed naked under the sheets both sweaty from their activity. "Mind if i smoke?" asked Mentis. "I thought you quit that **** years ago" said Derki. "Yeah, but..that was before all of well this" he gestured to his arm and antennae, He picked up his jacket from the floor reaching into the pocket pulling out a small pack of cigarettes and a lighter, taking one out and putting the rest down on the side table.

Slipping on his boxers before he walked out towards the balcony window, leaning on the metal banister cigarette in one hand lighter in the other he lit the cigarette taking a slow long drag, his eye patch had come off during their activity revealing it to be a dull lifeless eye, faded green of it's once former self. Feeling the chill air of the night on his face as he blew out smoke relaxing a bit.

After awhile Derki had gotten up and wrapped his arms around mentis from behind, he was slightly taller than Mentis, Who didn't really mind the embrace he relaxed into the hold leaning up to kiss Derki softly, Derki returned the kiss tasting the cigarette smoke and whiskey as their tongues entwined, Breaking apart faces flushed. "You'll, always have a special place in my heart Derki, I love you, but i'm not in love with you but I care about you a lot" he said softly. Derki smiled and nodded,"I feel the same Mentis, I understand I care a lot about you too" he kissed Mentis's cheek. "I'm here for you, whenever you need me. you know where to find me" he smiled and Mentis nodded.

Mentis finished his cigarette stubbing it out after blowing out the last of the smoke, Derki had long since walked back inside, turning and walking back in as he closed the balcony doors behind him, Derki was in bed already asleep by the time Mentis had finished his cigarette so he opted to crawl in next to him falling asleep too.

It wasn't until the morning sunrise did Mentis wake up stretching, Derki was still there beside him just now waking up, Mentis smiled,"Want to grab some breakfast before we part?" he asked as he looked around for his eye-patch,"Yeah, I am hungry" Derki said as he slowly got up.

After they both had dressed and somewhat cleaned themselves up, they went back to the mystery shack to grab breakfast before parting ways. Mentis and Derki talked over hot coffee and breakfast, reminiscing over the fond memories together sharing a chuckle or two, after breakfast they kissed goodbye before parting ways. "I'll see you around, take care now will you" said Derki smiling,"Will do my friend" said Mentis returning the smile as he watched his friend go. 'I'll see you soon, I promise' thought Mentis as he set down some money and left as well.

Once a decent distance away, he slipped into an alley reaching into his pocket and pulling out another cigarette and his lighter he lit it and breathed in the nicotine, blowing out the smoke as he put his lighter away. Here he was again smoking, he really should kick this old habit.

Mentis sighed,how long had it been. How many years? he didn't know. He took a long drag of the cigarette in his hand, blowing out the smoke, he had once sworn off of these things but here he was, smoking again leaning against the wall of a random alleyway.

Looking up at the sky with his one lone eye, the other had been lost a long time ago, donning an eye-patch now to cover it over,he still bore a scar over it, he had new scars now. even lost an arm and an antennae ,both replaced now with sturdy mechanical counterparts,his clothes worn and torn in places, no longer having the long sleeves he used to have on his long coat, his shirt and pants where semi intact for the moment but how much longer will it be. he didn't know, nor did he want to find out.

Finishing the cigarette he stomped it out with his worn boots, pushing off the alley and stalking out into the night,taking to the rooftops of the city finally stopping on top of a large brick building.

Leaning on the ledge for a moment before making his way across more rooftops, before he finally settled onto the ground again as he walked the dimly lit streets, passing block after block. Until he stopped right in front of a bar, it's neon light proudly displayed in a florescent pinkish hue, 'Mystery Shack', he smiled as he walked in.

Immediately he was greeted with flashing lights and loud music that pumped through the speakers, He walked over towards the bar calling over the bartender, Xain. Xain rolled his eyes at Mentis having dealt with him before,"So the usual i presume?"asked Xain in a bored tone. "Aw come on don't be like that Xainy~" he winked chuckling, Xain sighed and just poured Mentis a glass of whiskey sliding it along towards him completely ignoring the 'Xainy' comment as he went to attend to other customers.

Mentis on the other hand sipped his drink admiring the strippers currently dancing to the loud music, his mechanical arm and antennae shined a little due to the lights, some people were staring at him but he didn't care he smirked and winked at a few of them. Most blushed and turned away shyly others winked back at him.

He looked around the room lone forest green eye scanning the crowd, he paused eyes settling on a lone figure in the back of the room. Their face was covered with a dark hood, he watched them catching a glimpse of a dark grey eye, Mentis blinked 'Derki' he thought to himself he hadn't seen his old friend in years, he continued to watch the figure for a moment more before making his way slowly over glass of whiskey in hand.

He waded through the crowd of people, quietly slipping into the booth the figure was at, now that he was closer he could make out some more features. "Hey..you come here often?" he asked. as soon as Mentis spoke the figures head shot up and locked eyes with Mentis,"Mentis?" , "Derki?" Mentis whispered. Derki removed his hood revealing his scarred face.

"It's been, a long time hasn't it.." Derki said with a chuckle. "Yes, indeed it has. You want a drink?" he asked. "No thanks, I got my own" he said as he sipped from the glass in front of him that Mentis didn't notice beforehand."Want to catch up? for old times sake" he winked.

"Mentis, it's been..years. Plus we were both drunk" said Derki but a faint blush was on his cheeks, Mentis noticed and smirked "You sure you don't have even a little bit of feelings" he asked. Derki blushed looking away,"Well.. maybe. but..only a little bit. Look, I can't I'm a wanted fugitive" he sighed. "So am I, but i don't think the hunters have caught on to me yet" he said sipping his whiskey.

"Want to mess around for old time sake?, I promise you'll like it~" he winked. "Mentis.." he sighed and stood walking around to sit next to mentis slipping in beside him. "Yes, Derk-" he was cut off by Derki pulling him forwards and kissing him deeply. "Shut up.." he whispered into mentis's remaining antennae, Mentis blushed,"Well, want to take this elsewhere~" he whispered.

Mentis continued his pace, even as the rain started to pour soaking into his jacket he had to make his way to the hideaway, it was a long trek from his home so he didn't know how long i'd take him to travel to that specific location across the city.


He travelled throughout the night stopping by a convenience store for a quick snack and a few supplies before heading off once again. his breath coming out as white wisps as he walked in the cold keeping to himself, most didn't bother approaching him or look his way, he saw faded posters on a few brick walls, too damp and faded.


He had eventually stopped and took shelter at a small hideaway area he knew of it wasn't the best but it was dry and had a bed so closing the small door he huddled inside the secret hideaway luckily there was some old blankets so he kept warm as best he could resting as he listened to the rain, he'd head out again soon.


Meanwhile Cari had since finished her lunch and coffee and had cleaned up, she was now fixing up a few of the weapons modding them to see fit, she didn't know how long she'd been tinkering for but soon she yawned and decided to head to sleep, changing into something semi comfortable she slept on her now warmer bed.


Mentis however fell asleep for a few hours before finally waking up again he peaked out from the small door the rain had lessened and the sun wasn't out yet he sighed and rubbed his eye before getting up and was on the move again, once more he blended into the night taking the rooftops if needed.


He kept on going nearing his destination, he paused at the number pad fingers against the cold steel, he closed his eyes and hoped the code hadn't been changed.


Taking a deep breath and with a shaking but steady hand he typed it in, a soft click and the door opened, he breathed a sigh of relief as he carefully stepped inside.


Cari was still sleeping at this point but was woken to the sudden noise of a small alarm someone had entered the hideaway, eyes wide she grabbed the nearest weapon a small pistol she'd modified and waited.


Mentis looked around it was surprisingly tidy, 'Did.. she clean..' he thought to himself his heart was racing he kept pushing forwards.


Cari heard footsteps upstairs but kept hidden in her room, '**** am I doing..I have a gun' she scolded herself and straightened up, unlocking her door she peaked out with the gun in hand,"DON'T MOVE OR I'LL SHOOT!" she shouted from her position turning on the lights she almost dropped the gun, a choked sob and small gasp left her pale green lips as she felt the first of many tears fall, "M-mintas.." she ran to him wrapping her arms around him and sobbed.


Mentis walked down the stairs and was startled by the sudden "DON'T MOVE OR I'LL SHOOT!" followed by the lights turning on he shielded his eye with his arm but lowered it when he heard a choked sob and gasp followed by a name he hadn't heard in years, "M-mintas.." and then before he knew it she was hugging him sobbing into his shirt.


"Cari.." he whispered his own tears falling as he held her in his arms unable to fully process what was happening and even if this was actually real he just held her as if she'd fade away and he would wake up alone again.


It was awhile before the sobs died down, he looked at her with a small smile,"I've missed you.." he said softly, "me too.." he heard her say before he felt her lips on his kissing him deeply she pulled back after awhile,"..so much.." she added breathlessly.


Cari looked up and took in Mentis's appearance, scars and replacement parts and his eye,"Mintas.." she hugged him tightly,"oh mintas...I'm.. so sorry..I.." , Mentis kissed her softly,"Shh.. Cari it's not your fault.., don't blame yourself it's my fault..I..strayed back onto a path.. I took and look where it got me.. practically blind in one eye,missing arm and an antennae.. Cari..damn it.." he cursed.


"I found you.. after all these years, I've.. found you again..and I'm not about to let you slip away from me.. again, Cari.. I never got an answer all those years ago, but i'm going to ask again, Cari.. will you.. marry me?" he looked at her with his lone eye.


Cari's heart skipped a beat and she almost forgot to breath, she looked at him with her cyan eyes and smiled as tears rolled down her face,"..Yes.. Mintas.." she finally answered,"It was yes all those years ago.. but I never got to tell you..and I regret not just saying it".


Mentis pulled her close and kissed her deeply tears rolling down his own face he pulled back,"I love you..Cari..i've. always loved you..let's run away.. from this city.. from this place.." he said softly.


Cari nodded,"Yes, but..first.. let's.. get you out of those wet clothes" she said with a blush.


Mentis chuckled softly,"Oh, already want me out of my clothes hmm~" he teased winking.

Cari playfully slapped him,"No, i mean..maybe.. but not like that.. not.. now.." she huffed still blushing a deep green.


Mentis merely smiled and picked her up causing Cari to squeak as she was carried to her room, and after of course getting Mentis out of his wet clothes did they both find comfort in Cari's old bed curled up with one another.

Mentis was the first one to wake up, yawning slightly he blushed at the sleeping Cari curled up beside him, he smiled though he didn't have a ring, he knew where he'd find one, he'd kept it hidden all these years, doubt Cari had even discovered it amongst the obvious mess made in the rooms, including his old one.


Mentis pecked Cari on the forehead softly and carefully managed to slip free and sneak off into his old room which happened to be near Cari's old one, he looked around bed was intact mostly, room looked rather empty he sighed but spotted the untouched painting on the wall and smiled walking over he moved the painting finding the still locked safe concealed behind it, he turned the dial remembering the code and a soft click later the door opened.


Inside the safe was a small box,a rather large sum of money and a few other items as well, but Mentis focused on the small box he reached in and grabbed it opening it revealed a simple plain engagement ring, it wasn't fancy a simple white diamond on a silver band with small engravings of Cari's favourite flower.

He smiled and closed the box before reaching in and grabbing a slightly larger one he opened it and revealed two rings one for himself and one for Cari both where simple gold bands, tho one was slightly thicker than the other but not by much, marriage rings.


Mentis closed both boxes and put the larger into the safe and kept the smaller one, he closed the safe up and redressed in more comfortable clothes that he managed to salvage, worn black jeans and a simple dark green shirt with a black pattern on it, taking a deep breath he made his way back into Cari's room seeing her slowly begin to wake.


Cari yawned and slowly sat up rubbing her eyes, she blinked and noticed Mentis,"Hey handsome.." she said smiling, Mentis blushed,"Cari.." he said softly before walking over and showing her the ring,"it's not much.. i..i've had it for a long time.. I..also have marriage rings.. and some money.. i kept them..in a safe.. just, Just in case you know.. something anything happened.. no one else knew..i made sure.." he wrapped his arms around her.

"We'll get out of here, get married.. and live our lives.. together away from this city away from this place.." he said softly.


"Mintas.." he heard cari say sleepily,"I love you.." she said to him looking at him with soft blue eyes she leaned and kissed him.


Mentis kissed back, as he kissed back the world seemed to spin and he jolted upright blinking, the tv was still flickering he groaned,"..****..****..****" he screamed collapsing to his knees as he sobbed,"Cari.." he stood up,"No..it.. I.. " he slumped back into his seat,"was it really a dream.. ****..it felt.. so real.. I'll never forget you.. Cari.." he said to himself as tears rolled down his face.

Mentis finished his cigarette stomping it out with his worn boots before stalking out of the alley and walking off, the sun had risen high into the sky, it wasn't too bright nor did mentis really pay attention. The warmth of the sun felt good on his skin as he walked, the cool breeze hitting his face.

Eventually he had made it back to his current hideaway, in a disclosed remote location, once inside he took off his coat, stripping down until he was naked. He lay down onto his bed closing his eyes as he ran a hand downwards.

Afterwards, he was quite worn out and tired, slowly he fell asleep naked under the thin but warm covers, When he woke up he stretched and walked into the bathroom turning on the shower watching the water heat up, he stepped under it feeling the water run down his body, he relaxed thinking over everything that happened, After he was done with his shower Mentis turned it off, stepping out and drying himself off before redressing in some fresh clean clothes, once dressed he sat down on the bed sighing, he reached for his book and read trying to take his mind off of well everything. Maybe he was just stressed, no.. that couldn't be it, perhaps he was just lonely.

He didn't leave his home until it was dark out once again, cigarette in hand as he took a long drag blowing out the smoke he walked the dim lit streets, looking at every neon sign walking in and out of bars until finally he stopped at the mystery shack once again, sitting at his usual spot, only this time instead of a glass of whiskey it was a bottle, he didn't know how much time had passed before he knew it, he was on his tenth bottle, the empty ones beside him.

He eventually walked out still a bit drunk reaching into his pocket and pulling out a cigarette lighting it and taking a long drag. He blew out the smoke before he started walking cigarette in his mouth.

Many people ignored him as he walked the streets, not really caring to spare him a glance, eventually Mentis made it to Derki's place, knocking, "Hey, it's me" he said slurring his words slightly and the door slid open before he knew it a hand pulled him rather roughly knocking he cigarette out of his mouth,"Mentis.." said Derki,"Why're you drunk" he asked,"don't remember" he admitted,"Damn it Mentis? really? you need to stop", Mentis nodded,"I am well aware, but..this isn't about me drinking is it?" he asked.


"No, it's about why in the **** are you doing this to yourself!, your damn addictions have got to stop!" he was concerned about his friends state of health,"**** you, Derki you can't tell me what to do!" that earned him a solid right hook to the face,"SHUT THE **** UP!" he hissed, Mentis coughed staggering cigarette long had fell out his mouth when Derki pulled him inside, "What.the. ****" he spat out some blood. "Mentis, listen to me, you've got to stop this it isn't healthy". Mentis rolled his eyes,"Since when do you care?" he asked narrowing his lone eye. "Because, you're my friend!" _I care about you,_ said Derki.

"If you where my friend..you'd understand!" , "What?, of course I understand you need help!"_ I understand! you need help, irk. Mentis. Please.. _"Help?, Don't you think I've tried! I was ALONE for YEARS! Where, where you!" "I was on the run!" _Looking for you, Mentis!_ "So was I..and you all but disappeared!" "I had no choice" _no you disappeared I was still looking for you!_ , Mentis punched derki,"Lair!" he hissed, Derki staggered back not expecting the punch,"I'm not Lying!" _Why would I lie to you! I care about you too much Just stop!._ "Yes you ARE!" he turned to leave, "I'm done here, don't try to find me!" "Mentis!" _Mentis wait stop! don't do this to yourself!_ , "No Derki, you've said enough!" with that Mentis left slamming the door behind him.

Mentis reached into his pocket for another cigarette finding one left he sighed, lighting it anyway, he'd get more later for now he walked carefully, he was used to this kind of treatment by now, he felt it sure but he ignored it. Trying to keep silent as possible. He kept walking eventually making it to the park and resting under a large tree. He lazily smoked, he'd get more later, provided no one recognised him.

Cari finds herself waking up to the sound of a soft alarm she opens her eyes wide and scans the room finding a dusty digital clock flashing she smacks it turning the alarm off, she looked at the time it was late afternoon she yawned and slowly got up realising she slept in the clothes she came in with and on a rather worn soft mattress, but with no pillows or blankets.


Finally on her feet she looked around spotting a door to the right of the room she opened it revealing an on-suite bathroom, a shower looked inbuilt into one of the walls, it was small enough to maybe hold two people at the most but plenty of room, there was a standard sink and a wall mirror that looked a bit dusty, and of course there was a smallish toilet tucked into a corner.


Cari sighed, well at least it was better than nothing she walked back into her room and finally looked around, there was a decent sized bed, a set of draws with thankfully some clothes that where seemingly spilling out of some opened ones, there was also a small vanity with a dusty mirror and chair, "I should.. probably clean.. this place up.." she said aloud to no one.


Slipping off the cloak she was wearing and placing it over the dusty chair not really caring much she made quick work looking around in the other rooms she found some bed-sheets,pillows and a few other items as well.


She quickly made the bed and smiles satisfied with her work she then continues by cleaning up the room somewhere in the middle of cleaning she took off her jacket and after she'd finished up she'd taken off her boots and grabbed some clothing and a towel she managed to find before heading into the bathroom for a well deserved shower.


After she showers,dries and dresses herself in more comfortable clothes, this included a pair of soft jeans and a long sleeved pale purple shirt, she slipped her boots back on and explored more of the building she wondered if there was a power source and maybe more lights as it was pretty dark despite the lights she had turned on.


Cari sighed "this could take awhile" she said out loud after what seemed like several hours she had finally cleaned up most of the place, sure it wasn't spotless and still needed some work, but she did manage to fix the power issue, she had also checked the storage area below and found food,ammo,guns and other things she might need.


Now here she was eating a sandwich she had made and sipping on some coffee lounging on the couch watching some rerun of a movie, she sighed, 'Mintas..' she thought sadly to herself, she felt like crying but she was done crying she had to stay strong.


With Mentis he'd woken up late into the night rubbing his eyes no longer feeling as tired as he was before he quickly took a shower before dressing in a slightly different outfit, worn black jeans, a black t-shirt, his usual black combat boots and a shorter leather jacket instead of his long overcoat, he did however shove his cigarettes and a lighter in the inside pocket as he grabbed his keys and headed out locking the door behind him.


Different thoughts went through his mind, 'Where do I look?, Will she remember?' he tried to think of anywhere, anyplace she may be at, and that's when a flashback hit him.


_A pre-eye patch Mentis stumbled into a room with Cari in his arms, "Irk you're beautiful..Cari" he had said to her looking into her eyes holding her close to him,"hmm, you're quite handsome yourself love" she had said back to him as she looked into his eyes with her own, she had leaned up and kissed him, "You know we can't stay here forever.." she had started and he had sighed._


_"I know..I just..wish we could, be together..always.." he had said,"yeah someday, I know we'll find a place..you know, Just you and me.. together.." she had smiled at him, his heart skipped a beat,"Cari..I don't want to lose you..I love you..so much it hurts, marry me?" he had found himself asking her hand. "Mentis..I.." she had started before a loud noise startled them both. "**** they've found us.." he cursed,"Run,I'll hold them off!" he told her kissing her one last time._


That was one of the last times he had seen her, 'Maybe she's there.. at the old hideout..the last place..' he thought to himself. "I hope i'm right about this" he said to himself as he started to walk sticking to the shadows.


Mentis was on a mission, and no one was going to stop him, even as the first raindrops fell from the sky his mind was set as he kept pushing forwards, he hoped he was right as this was going to be one hell of a reunion.
