I did this picture back in July 2022 in celebration of Disability Pride Month! The flag my character Nix is holding is the up-to-date disability pride flag. Earlier versions of this flag were used in protests and during a meeting with the UN to ensure the basic rights of disabled people would be respected globally. This version of the flag, however, was only designed in 2021. Each colour represents a different part of the community: Red represents physically disabled people, Yellow represents people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as the wider neurodivergent community, White represents those with invisible disabilities, those who haven't yet received a diagnosis or those otherwise left behind/forgotten about but wider society, Blue is for people with disabling mental health conditions, green is for sensory disabilities and the grey background is for all those we have lost, thanks to both the disabilities themselves, but also mistreatment, ableism and medical malpractice/negligence.

It was a point of confusion when I posted this in other places, so just to clarify, this isn't an LGBTQ+ pride flag, nor is it related to the LGBTQ+ community. It is for anyone with a disability to use!

Wev (pronouns she/they) is one of 3 main characters in the main Webcomic I'm working on, Voidstar. Wev is a member of the Kepek species, and was once a planetary scout, meaning she would go on expeditions to explore the surface of planets with a team of experts to determine if the location is a good place for long-term habitation. These days though, she's settled into a quieter life aboard a Space Station working security and tending to their beloved giant mushroom gardens.
At least, that was their plan. During Voidstar, however, Wev end up being brought along on a mission to help keep a living god safe, a bit of a step away from the quiet life she was after!

I'm so happy with how this one came out, I've been playing around with different lineart styles lately and I think the look i was going for finally clicked!

Something about my usual art style has been feeling off to me lately, so I'm trying some new methods out to see what sticks. I wanted to use an old character of mine from my childhood, Lilly, to test some methods out because I don't draw her enough anymore!

My art tablet died a few days ago, so this is my first drawing using my old Intuos (screenless) tablet since...2015? I think I did pretty well considering how rusty I am with it!

I thought some Voidstar concept art would be a good subject to test it out on!

In the comic, Ravu (the dragon) is absolutely TERRIFIED of Purnekels: completely harmless jellyfish/flower-like creatures that float around in the vacuum of space. They have about as much ability to hurt you as an actual flower, but this does little to calm Ravu - their natural predator. So Xari decides to go out into space with them to help them confront their fear. This scene takes place towards the end of the comic, which is why Ravu is so big (though still very far from an adult!)

My name's Cy, (pronouns xe/ze/they), I'm new to Inkblot so I thought I'd say hi! I'm trained as a 3D artist and even did some game dev work in the past but now my main focus is on comics and 2D art! Most of my art and stories are sci-fi and fantasy themed with a big focus on dragons, aliens and the occasional furry, usually featuring queer and disabled characters!

This was a commission I did for a mutual of mine on Tik Tok of her and (some of) her adorable reptiles!

I'd made some changes to the story of my comic voidstar that meant Avernix, the main antagonist, needed a redesign. I finally go around to it, and while I think her outfit in particular need some more adjustments, I'm liking this new direction for her.

Talbek are a species of space-dwelling creatures in my comic Voidstar. They begin life as tiny beings, feeding off the metals found in asteroids and other space-dwelling creatures, but quickly grow to be the size of entire star systems. Their sheer size, and the fact they each seem to have unique abilities has led many creatures in the galaxy to worship them as living gods. The Talbek seem indiferent.
