Needed ref for drawing my comic characters, so here's Crash. I'm a much better sculptor than 2d artist, so I actually trace a lot of the comics from posed figures in Design Doll with the head and armor imported. Then i can pose them.
One of the problems I've had since childhood is that depth perception. I don't seem to have it. It's apparently why I will randomly hit the door frame when I go through. Maybe it's because I actually have a natural aptitude for 3d and being **** at 2d perspective is the way God has balanced the scales. "Oh man, you're gonna be a kickass 3d artist but we'll have to balance that." but also, "What do you mean they won't allow kids to sculpt anything other than pinch pots till high school???"Needed ref for drawing my comic characters, so here's Crash. I wrote the comic in a tradtional comic format because I started it before smart phones were quite so smart. The first image is from me redrawing the opening page of Robots and Racks after 10 years. I never planned on going back and updating the art, but I've had people tell me that the art was bad enough that they didn't keep reading. Sadness! So now with waaay more experience, I embraced my limitations and started doing everyting in 3d and using that as a base to draw and color.
