Just a fun little doodle I did for a fantroll community event over on tumblr, where the theme was Art of War. She won one of the categories as Grand Couturier!
I took a lot of inspiration from bleeding heart doves for this piece, and every piece has meaning. The outfit is meant to reference a rustblooded matesprit of a leader, who was held hostage and killed during the uneasy ceasefire time of a war. Obviously, this did not go down well with the leader and a war broke out over it. Orivar wore white silks stained with red dye to simulate the blood stained burial shroud the matesprit was wrapped in, as well as the red halo and enameled heart piece to indicate the blunt force trauma and stab wound they died from. The sword is the original one that belonged to them before they died, broken but then restored with gold to bind the pieces.
