I can't believe I almost forgot to post this!
Meet Eggbert!
As an artist, I'm always looking for ways to grow and improve my work. This time, it was with a light and color study of a simple egg.
But as you can see, Eggbert is no ordinary egg - he's got a cheeky grin and a playful personality that just begged to be captured on canvas.
The face actually started out as a joke in a Discord group and now I love him haha
Who knew a silly face on an egg could bring so much happiness?

Another older piece, but still one I love!
I really love meerkats. They're one of my favorite animals.

I did a bunch of sketches for the Pouflons game recently (just for fun, no commissions).

It's been a long break, but I'm finally making my way back onto social media. As a heads up, I've deleted all my artwork branded with my old username, so sorry for the reuploads this week, haha.
I've got some new artwork coming very soon and I promise it'll be worth the way too long wait.
Thanks to everyone who stuck by me through this period. I really appreciate you all!
A few tidbits about this piece:
This was the last piece I did with a lot of photobashing. While I did paint over a lot of details (the trike is hand-painted save for the texture of the scales, highlights, small details, color adjustments, the clouds...) but the majority of the background was put together with photos. This was the last time (to date) that I did this.
There's nothing wrong with photobashing (as long as you own the photos or have permission to use them), I just knew I wanted something a little more painterly.
Prints of this piece are currently 15% off in InPrnt!

This is Rhus, he's a fey/nature spirit based off an allegheny dusky salamander. He's very protective of his little patch of forest and loves to "collect" (see also: steal) things he finds "discarded" (see also: this kid left his bike for 2 minutes to look at a rock).
Like most fey, he's mischievous and tricky, and more likely to dupe you than to grant a wish for you, but he's fiercely loyal to the people, places, and beliefs close to him.
I should paint more of him. Probably will in the near future.

All of this was very dreamlike for me. Literally, this is what my dreams are often like. Strange environments that seem completely normal in the moment. Often, there's a stillness in them that's both unnerving and perfectly peaceful. All of this was very dreamlike for me. Literally, this is what my dreams are often like. Day 3 of posting every weekday!
This time, we wrap up Morning Drink with the sketch phase.
Looking back on this, if I could do it again, I'd repaint the scales on the trike.
I recently learned that scientists found fossilized triceratops skin samples, and I'd love to make my next triceratops more scientifically accurate instead of relying so heavily on speculation and imagination.
Next time! lol

I thought it'd be fun to show the comparison between the sketch and the fully painted image.
Most of the time my sketches don't completely align with my finished images. Things change while I paint and I find better angles or shapes to work with that seem more in line with my vision.
You can see a perfect example of that with every leaf here haha!
I hope you enjoy the comparison! I can't wait to show you my next piece on Monday. I'm very proud of that one and I hope you'll love it too, so please remember to follow me for more.
Do you stick to your sketches or go "freestyle" in your work? My new icon!
I'm excited to show everyone what I've been up to.
I'll have a new name and a lot of new paintings, tutorials, speedpaints and a lot of fun new content.

Day 2 of posting every weekday!
This time it's a close-up of Morning Drink.

This is an older piece, and I remember having a hard time with the facial scales because it was the first time I'd really done something like this in this amount of detail.

Feeling so proud to show off this detail shot of my latest painting!
Capturing the delicate beauty of a field sparrow was a labor of love, and I'm thrilled to share a closer look at the brushwork and hues.
