After settling in at the Ragnvindr cabin near Dragonspine, under Kaeya's care.

After all the damage done to his body throughout the years/stressing his body out through near constant hiding his real form through Abyssal magic made it extremely difficult for him to remain as active as he used to be as a Harbinger, on top of dealing with the extreme stress of being retraumatized, he gains a little bit of weight.

Way better than how he was found, emaciated and severely wounded.

Totally not just referencing myself because I'm projecting hardcore on my writing of him lol

Redesign of Childe's Foul Legacy form for my horrifically long fanfic where various stressors on his body become too much for him to deal with and he transforms permanently, and said stress causes him to be essentially disabled.

Short version of the explanation is that when he fell into the Abyss as a kid, he HAD permanently transformed into an Abyssal beast, and Skirk taught him how to mask that with Abyssal magic and shapeshift back into a human/hold that form. Unfortunately he was scared shitless and didn't understand that's what she was teaching him. Suppressing Abyssal beast instincts and development fucks him up in ways he doesn't realize until it's far too late and he has no idea what to do but. just let someone take care of him and help him heal.

Clothing designed with physical limitations in mind so he's able to dress himself with minimal help, and it's not like he's having to be sewn into outfits lol
