I'm giving up on Inkblot.

I'm disappointed. This was a really interesting project, and I was excited to support it. With DeviantART an AI wasteland, I was eager to find another gallery site that supported NSFW content, and IB fit that bill perfectly. But lately it's just been constant delays and weeks on end with no movement or updates from the team, and my patience has run dry. I've left the Discord server and cancelled my Substack subscription.

This account will remain, though, in the off chance that things turn around and this place prospers once again. And truly, I hope it does. I have no quarrel with Jay or the IB team and I truly do hope they work to become more active and make this place what it was meant to be. But, in the meantime, I feel my time is best spent supporting other projects.

So I drew my OC Fen'mi as he appears in Pathfinder. He's a dragon-blooded sorcerer. <3

Figured I'd kick off my account here with a recent OC redesign I finished!

This is Mika, my oldest and one of my most beloved OCs. She's been with me since 2006, but sadly I lost a lot of earlier works so I can't show off what she *originally* looked like. But I decided to touch up her design once more a couple weeks ago, and here's the result!

First off: hello! If you don’t know me from Twitter or elsewhere, I’m Avelyn! 20’s, they/she. I’m one of the many fleeing Twitter, and I deleted my DeviantArt account a while ago after the NFT-related announcements.

I’m not used to sharing my work purely through mobile, but I’ve heard many good things about Inkblot and I’m willing to give it a try.

I’ve been puttering around for a little bit, and I’d like to share my first impressions of the app.

**Pros**
- Lovely UI! Very streamlined and easy to use.
- Lost of post options, from artwork to blog posts (like this) to statuses.
- Very clean feed! Free from algorithms and whatever else.
- I heard this app was anti-AI. Thank you for rejecting that noise.
- Tip jar button!
- Separate tab for commission work!

**Cons**
- some assets feel… unfinished, for want of a better word? Buttons are scrunched together, text not aligned properly in places
- This is the tiniest nitpick ever, but the lack of any spacing between display name and pronouns is driving me mad
- It’s hard to see my cursor in dark mode
- Random crashes

**Overall**
I’m feeling very optimistic! I’d love to get started transferring some of my work here, and I’ll see where this place takes me!
