• > [**Image:** A short comic in stylized, quadriptych-like geometry. The first panel shows the Lastborn gesticulating as he looks down into his own silhouette, which encloses Trahearne. He says ‘You were one of the first to leave… And you disappeared. You threw away the very thing that I could never have. I guess I resented you for that…’
    >
    > The Lastborn turns away in the next panel, sheepishly folding his hands. Trahearne dips his head, deep in thought. The Lastborn continues. ‘I felt so betrayed that you left… And when you came back, I felt betrayed that it was so easy for you to come home… It meant I was alone in my alone-ness again.’
    >
    > The next two panels invert the silhouettes of Trahearne and the Lastborn, with Trahearne rendered in white against a black background. He holds the sword Caladbolg / Caladcholg over his shoulders, but it seems to crumble under its own weight, and he does, too. He peeks out from the crook of his arm, and says ‘I never understood why you acted out. I envied you, actually. I thought you had been given the only true freedom.’
    >
    > The Lastborn is minimized into a tiny sprite of himself. He sits at Trahearne’s feet and asks ‘Freedom?’
    >
    > Trahearne continues. ‘Freedom from the Dream, the Hunt, the Tree, our people.’
    >
    > In the last panel, more pieces of the blade fall away as Trahearne’s grip on it falters. He looks at the Lastborn properly, now, and says ‘Even when the weight of my burden became too great to carry alone, I couldn’t afford to fail. It was never an option. So I ran, and I hid myself in my studies. But I was never truly free.’]

First of the first and last of the last have grief that rhymes, but instead of bringing them together, it just gives them 3947287 layers of beef that they’re too stoic to act out about. (And _then_ it brings them together. Later. Much later.)

  • I’m actually impressed by the tributes for Toriyama that were generated by AI. Far more respectful than what happened with Kim Jung Gi but I suppose those crooks had already trained their systems on Toriyama’s work. Nice to see that their hearts were in the right place.

I just can’t get over the Dragonballs having the wrong amount of stars.

    Every damn time!

  • Myself as a dnd Wizard (college of scribes) who can summon ghost wolf familiar. This was actually done for a culminating presentation for a work leadership academy I was a part of.

    Explanation of Design choices:
True Colors preferences--I have a preference for Green, then Blue with a little Yellow which decided the outfit colors.
Hard to see but the weapon is a shepherds crook in reference to my love of sheep, the english translation of my last name, and the concept of a shepherd "leading" their flock
Wolf spirits because our mascot is the grey wolf and I met a lot of new people across the college I work at to call upon
Chose wizard and college of scribes because my strengths lean towards data/knowledge accumulation and sharing

Fun enough, I was not the only one who used dnd in their presentation.

  • *Field commander of Special Task Force 0, nicknamed "Secret Asian Man", departs a CRF camp after negotiating its withdrawal from Xinjiang.*

Xinjiang's super-spy in the IOT spin-off Multipolarity. He's a man of few words, but his actions speak for themselves; he'll do whatever it takes to stop the CRF, even if it means crushing them with his bare hands. And he might very well be able to do that.

I'll often wonder if my cartoons will ever reach a semi-professional standard... and then something like this happens. The lines probably took only two to three hours total, but the shading at least doubled the work. I debated doing the smoke clouds in post, but in the end I'm happy I didn't, even if my lead will pay for it later. The scanner ate some of the shading, but not enough that I totally lost the contrast. The face is a *little* crooked, but not so bad that it visibly detracts. It was reasonably clean so I uploaded it without much further editing; I might tidy it up some time later.

All-'round, it's certainly one of my better pieces, and an instant personal favourite.

His appearance is based on the (modern) [Attila the Hun Civ3 leaderhead by R8XFT](http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=194651). His name was inspired by a popular mal-entendre of [a certain Johnny Rivers song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7UlwJDavGI).

  • Decided to cut myself & my wife out of a family photo style pic I’m making for my parents, and make our own little “studio photo shoot” pic from it. Something like 6 hours? Drawn without any references (& yes, I know my bottom jaw is crooked & my upper arm is too long, but I’m beyond done with it at this point).

  • [**Image:** Research assistant Reyes bobs and weaves through the Doctor’s lab. Reyes is a scrappy-looking woman wearing an oversized military coat, with her hair tied up in a ponytail. She might be tall in regular company, but as she books it past the Doctor, she’s dwarfed by the woman’s crooked, looming frame. The Doctor is concealed toe to tip by a skull-like mask, a large hood, and several layers of red robes. What little of her body is shown is heavily augmented with mechanical tendrils and wires.

Across from the Doctor is MarkOS, another funny little hooded cyborg. Judging from the Doc’s bloody talons and the exposed cavity of his chest, he’s in the middle of having his ribs cracked for some sort of impromptu operation. The two of them just look over at Reyes as she passes, indifferent.]

Reyes the greenhorn meets her new boss in passing; realizes she’s in over her head.

I’m sick ): so I color the lineart and I take the naps. Ironically this was already sketched and lined and ready to go two months ago, I just didn’t have time to finish it until now. Take breaks or your body will take them for you.
