This was one of my favorite topics for the Exalted Art Challenge I participated in during October. Inspired by the Exalted TTRPG from Onyx Path Publishing, this art event always gives me an excuse to experiment with new techniques and styles.

For this topic, I got carried away with the idea of Chiaroscuro glass. These remnants of the magnificent buildings of the city of old Chiaroscuro magically retain their luster and strength and are usually used for armor, weapons, and other utilitarian purposes. But I figure why not armor AND a gown for my gal, Kalara?

This practice piece represents a new style I've been attempting to evolve with soft vs hard elements a la Klimt/Tarot.

Kubiu are descendants of ancient succubus/incubus, which have adapted to the modern world. Their sex can be male or female and even absent altogether. A common feature of them - horns of intricate shapes with lines as the color of eyes. Kubiu have the pointed ears, which can be different shapes and sizes. Their eyes don't have pupils, as they are similar in structure to ones of insects. Also all members of the species have a peculiar birthmark (there may be several on the body). Kubiu use it as a seal, which mark their victims. Human fashion of different eras is very popular among Kubiu, they can dress as they like. Lifespan of Kubiu depends on the total number of individuals against to the people species. If they are less than humans, they can live for up to 1000 years, if more - the life expectancy is reduced. On average, they live 500-800 years.All individuals have the ability to teleport, control of dreams, illusions and hypnosis. Also Kubiu have beastform. When Kubiu's life comes to an end, their skin begins to cover with cracks/fractures and body gradually crumbles or breaks down in the sand. The process of dying may last a few minutes or a few years - they do not experience pain in the proccess, but lose their strength.
